NEW DELHI: Nepal is likely to make an official announcement on Saturday about PM P K Dahal Prachanda’s visit to India starting May 31. This will be his first visit abroad since taking over as PM last year.
Prachanda was quoted as saying earlier this week that he believed a new history will be created with his visit to India. “This time, I believe, Nepal will achieve something new from the visit. Nepal-India relations will be taken to a new height,” he said in an interview.
Nepal foreign ministry sources in Kathmandu said the visit will take place from May 31 to June 3 and the ministry will make a formal announcement on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Nepalese ambassador to India Shankar Prasad Sharma called on minister for external affairs S Jaishankar in New Delhi this week and discussed Prachanda’s upcoming visit.
