NEW DELHI: In a historic moment for Indian equestrian sports, the team comprising Anush Agarwalla, Hriday Vipul, Divyakriti, and Sudipti Hajela secured a monumental gold medal by achieving a remarkable score of 209.205 in the Team Dressage event at the ongoing 19th Asian Games on Tuesday.
This victory marks India’s inaugural gold in this event at the Asian Games and their first gold medal in equestrian competition in 41 years.
After an intense competition spanning nearly 10 hours, with talented athletes from across Asia participating, it was the Indian quartet of Agarwalla, Chheda, Divyakriti, and Hajela who delivered a standout performance when it counted the most.

Anush Agarwalla and his horse ETRO achieved the highest score at 71.088, while Hriday Chheda-Emerald scored an impressive 69.941. Divyakriti Singh-Adrenalin Firdod secured a commendable 68.176, and Sudipti Hajela-Chinski contributed with a score of 66.706.
India concluded the competition with a total score of 209.205, significantly surpassing the second-placed China, which achieved a score of 204.882. Anush Agarwalla’s outstanding score of 71.088, along with strong performances by Hriday and Divyakriti, ensured that no other team came close to their combined total.
In this historic triumph, the Indian team outperformed favourites such as China and Japan, solidifying their position as champions in the Team Dressage event at the Asian Games.
