Sonam Kapoor talks about the debacle of her last two films ‘Blind’ and ‘The Zoya Factor’; expresses her desire to work in period films | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Sonam Kapoor, who recently attended an event for Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, spoke about what went wrong with her last two films, ‘Blind‘ and ‘The Zoya Factor‘.
Talking about the same, Sonam said that there’s a new trend that there will be one costume designer to design for the leads and there will be another designer who will work for the background artists.According to her, in these cases, there’s never a synergy between the two. The actress added that she had the same problem in both of her last films.
Elaborating further, Sonam added that it is like having three DoPs and two directors on a film. According to her, an HOD should be an HOD. There shouldn’t be five HODs on a film set.Sonam even talked about her desire to do a period film. The actress said that even though she is known for her clothes, for some reason every director in reel life wants her in simple clothes with no make-up. That’s why she is always the girl-next-door onscreen. She has never done a period film with jewellery and Indian clothes. She is always wearing simple salwar kameez and she always belongs to a Chandi Chowk or a small village in Punjab in her films and people like her dress up in a simple way. Sonam added that her dream is to do a period role one day. That’s why she is fulfilling her dream of wearing dramatic costumes at the red carpet.

She is the brand ambassador for options market ‘Word To Screen’ at the festival.
