RAIPUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi mounted a blistering attack on the Congress government in Chhattisgarh on Saturday, stating that a change is imminent as the people are fed up with corruption and misrule under the guise of employment and schemes.
“A change is happening. People are saying, ‘auu nahi sahibo, badal ke rahibo’ (will not tolerate anymore, adamant for a change),” said PM Modi while addressing a gathering at Science College Ground during the culmination of two pre-assembly election ‘Parivartan Yatras’ of BJP.

“I have never seen this kind of energy before among the people in Chhattisgarh, and it shows that the Parivartan Yatra has indeed instilled a lot of fuel in people.

Modi means the guarantee of fulfilling all the promises. Modi has recently fulfilled one of them by providing 33 per cent reservation to women in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha. The BJP has made the ‘Nari Shakti Adhiniyam’ (women’s reservation Bill) a reality after President Droupadi Murmu gave it approval. But mothers and sisters need to be alert because a Bill that took 30 years to become a law has brought frowns to the Congress party. They are spending sleepless nights imagining that Modi will receive blessings from women. That’s why they are again playing the game of dividing people and engaging in debates on casteism to divide the organization. They are spreading lies, but I ask you not to fall into that trap. Be united so that your dreams come true. I promise that the coming years will bring prosperity to the families of all my sisters,” PM Modi said.

BJP leader Sambit Patra: ‘Congress is working hand in glove with Naxalites’

Stepping up the attack on the ruling Congress in Chhattisgarh over alleged corruption charges, Modi roared, “When Modi guaranteed providing tap water to the houses of women and reached 10 crore houses, it pains me that the ‘nal jal yojana’ in Chhattisgarh is moving too slowly. The government believes that if the sisters and mothers get this facility, they will chant ‘Modi Modi.’ They have slowed down the work because Congress neither likes Modi nor his schemes. Another significant example is the PM Awas Yojana, wherein four crore poor families in the country have been given permanent houses. Till the time Raman Singh’s government was in power, the work was progressing swiftly. However, Congress tried to figure out how they could get a ‘cut’ in the scheme. But Modi transfers the amount for houses directly to the accounts of beneficiaries, so when the Congress cannot get anything out of it, they slow down the work.”

“I promise that as soon as the BJP comes into power in the state, the first cabinet will decide that all the pending houses under the scheme for poor people will be rapidly provided to them,” Modi said.
“The DMF funds, which are a part of the minerals procured from the state and are supposed to be utilized for the betterment of the people here. This scheme came into force during Raman Singh’s time, and he told me that the amount is so huge that there will be no need for a separate budget allocation for a few needy districts. Chhattisgarh receives crores of rupees under DMF, but the Congress government has misused and looted the money that belongs to tribals and Dalits. Besides, the liquor scam is known to all, and Congress people are such that they didn’t spare even cow dung and cows from corruption. The youths have been conned in the name of employment, while the PSC scam is a huge deception. Those selected are also uncertain, and those not selected are facing injustice. I promise the youths that the offenders in this scam will be taken to task when the BJP comes into power here,” PM said.
“During Covid times, this son of the poor decided to provide free ration to people under Gareeb Kalyan Anna Yojana so that no poor family sleeps hungry. But for the Congress government, it became a source of corruption, stealing food and stoves from the beneficiaries,” he said. “Now, people are asking them where their ration has gone. If Congress gets another chance to rule here, they will escalate corruption,” he added.
“Hundreds of malnourished children in the state have died, but the news was suppressed by the government. What can be a bigger failure than this? When Congress was in the Centre, it gave Rs 300 crore per year for railways in the state, but our government has given Rs 6000 crore in a year for the expansion of railways because we aim towards better facilities for the people,” Modi said.
Remembering Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s efforts to carve out Chhattisgarh as a new state, Modi said that the BJP, whether in the Centre or the state, is completely dedicated to the state.
Pointing out the statement of deputy chief minister T S Singhdeo during his last visit, Modi said, “Today I am here to guarantee that Modi will fulfill all the dreams of the people, and I vow this today. The dreams will come true only when the BJP comes to power. Because no matter how much effort I put from Delhi, the Congress government tries to make it a failure. The Centre has approved thousands of crores of projects in the past five years for rail, electricity, houses, and development works without a dearth of money. And I am not saying this; the deputy CM said so publicly. For the truth he spoke, he had to face ire within the party from top to bottom. Despite providing thousands of crores to the state, the Congress government either delayed the projects or withheld them. Is this how Chhattisgarh is going to grow?”
The Prime Minister added that the paddy farmers have also been cheated by the Congress in the state.
“I would like to say that the Centre procures each and every grain of rice from paddy farmers of the state, and more than Rs 1 lakh crore has been paid to them while Congress makes tall claims. I assure you that the BJP is committed to paddy farmers and will take care of their needs. Our effort is to raise the standard of living for the poor,” Modi highlighted the Centre’s schemes of Ujjawala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, and their benefits.
“We have introduced PM Vishwakarma Yojana worth Rs 1000 crore for the betterment of Vishwakarma families. The people of Chhattisgarh will also benefit. We will not only provide money but also new opportunities. Moreover, no bank guarantee will be asked from you, because Modi has given you his guarantee,” PM said.
