Priyanka Chopra touches down in Mumbai for MAMI Film Festival; scolds the paparazzi for getting too close – Times of India
The actress flew into the city early this morning to attend the opening night of the Jio MAMI Film Festival 2023. The Bollywood star was spotted at the airport where she was greeted by ecstatic paparazzi giving her a warm welcome.
For her long flight home, Priyanka donned a chic black crop top paired with comfy pants and a long coat.While she dressed down in casual attire, she added a little sparkle to her look by wearing a diamond necklace and a stunning diamond ring. On her arrival, Priyanka seemed amused by the cameramen walking backwards while trying to get a photo of her.
After a while, the actress seemed to get a little irritated with the papz as they blocked her path. “Thoda piche chalo guys,” she said while gesturing the men to keep walking.
Priyanka was then seen asking her team and security guards to step in and clear the way for her to enter her car. Our cameras caught the actress’ stern reaction to the paparazzi who kept pleading with her to pose for a few photos. “Han, han…” she said assuring the men that she would oblige them with a few pictures before heading into her waiting car and zooming off.
Upon her arrival in Mumbai, Priyanka took to her Instagram story to share a glimpse of her car ride, expressing her excitement to be back in the city. She shared an image of her passport and official papers, captioning it, “It’s been a minute Mumbai. Cannot wait.”
PeeCee is in the city to attend the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival which runs from October 27 to November 5.
This year’s festival boasts an impressive selection, including over 40 World Premieres, 45 Asia Premieres, and 70+ South Asia Premieres, with more than 1000 submissions for the South Asia program.
The festival aims to highlight contemporary films and emerging cinematic talents from South Asia, with a particular focus on the South Asia Competition. This competitive section is aligned with the festival’s vision to become a hub for South Asian and South Asian Diaspora cinema and talent.
In addition to Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the event will feature a lineup of prominent celebrities, filmmakers, and industry figures, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Karan Johar, Kamal Hassan, Mani Ratnam, Luca Guadigno, Hansal Mehta, Ektaa Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Anurag Kashyap, Manushi Chillar, Ali Fazal, and many others.
On the work front, Priyanka recently appeared in ‘Citadel,’ a show created by The Russo Brothers, alongside Richard Madden. She is also set to share the screen with John Cena and Idris Elba in ‘Heads Of State,’ directed by Ilya Naishuller and written by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec. The film is based on an original idea by HarrisonQuery.
