Haryana to recruit 10,000 skilled workers for Israel | India News – Times of India
CHANDIGARH: Amid criticism of the Haryana government over joblessness, a state public sector company – Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam (HKRN) – on Friday put out an advertisement for recruiting 10,000 skilled workers for Israel, where there is a massive shortage of manpower in the construction sector since the start of the war with Hamas.
As per the vacancies advertised by HKRN, the minimum educational qualificationfor the job is class X pass. The candidate should be in the 25 to 54 age group with a minimum experience of three years. As per the advertisement, the salary will be 6100 NIS (Israeli currency), which is around Rs 1.34 lakh per month as one NIS is equivalent to Rs 22.
The candidates should have experience in industrialised building formwork, wood formwork, ceramic tiling of floors and walls, plastering work and iron bending. Those applying for these jobs are also required to have sound knowledge of reading construction plans.
HKRN officials were not available for comments.
The cancellation of work permits of around 90,000 Palestinians due to the ongoing war has caused an acute shortage of workers there. There were media reports that the Israel Builders’ Association is negotiating with India for availability of construction workers.
Interestingly, the Haryana government’s move has come just a day after junior minister of external affairs V Muraleedharan informed the RS that the Centre has not held any discussions with Israel regarding a possible replacement of Palestinian workers with Indians. He was replying to a query by Congress MP K C Venugopal.
Junior Union minister for labour and employment, Rameshwar Teli, in Parliament on July 20, in response to a question by Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda, had admitted that unemployment in Haryana has increased by 315% since 2014.
As per the data placed before the Haryana state assembly in August, as many as 5,43,874 youths seeking jobs were registered with the employment exchanges in different districts of Haryana till July. Jind district topped the list with 52,089 applications, followed by Kaithal (47,593), Hisar (46,453), Karnal (42,446) and Yamunanagar (34,642). Only 4,548 youths were registered in Gurgaon, 4,696 in Faridabad and 7,565 in Panchkula.
Haryana has also advertised for recruitment of 50 bouncers for Dubai and 120 staff nurses for the UK.
