CEC asks state election officials to focus on ‘spotless’ polls | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Chief election commissioner Rajiv Kumar on Thursday told chief electoral officers (CEOs) of all states and Union Territories to focus their energies on delivering a “spotless” general election, the thrust of which would be “to ensure the best possible experience for the voters”.
Addressing a conference all the CEOs, which over its two-day duration saw the CEOs from states where polls were held recently sharing their experiences, best practices and lessons learnt, Kumar said the “road to the elections is a journey of duty and resolve” and expressed confidence in the readiness of the election machinery with all the necessary interventions to make the electoral experience of all stakeholders a pleasant one.
The EC brass and the CEOs brainstormed on various themes like election planning, expenditure monitoring, electoral roll, IT applications, data management and electronic voting machines and voter education and awareness.
Election commissioner Anup Chandra Pandey said the CEOs conference is the culmination of the exercise that started with various conferences, workshops, trainings, seminars organised over the past six months as part of preparations for 2024 elections.tnn
