Shobhita Dhulipala entered the world of movies back in 2016 with films like ‘Raman Raghav 2.0‘, ‘Chef’ and ‘Kaalakaandi’. But it was not before she became part of ‘Made In Heaven’ backed by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, which brought her in the limelight. Soon after she also went to become a part of the Indian adaptation of ‘The Night Manager‘ with Aditya Roy Kapoor and Anil Kapoor..
The actress is currently lapping up all the accolades coming her way as she is about to make her Hollywood debut under Dev Patel’s directorial venture ‘Monkey Man’. The film revolves around Dev’s character who is out to take revenge from the underworld for the atrocities unleashed on him during his childhood.
When the trailer dropped, Anurag Kashyap, her first director (Raman Raghav 2.0) was amongst the first ones to it on his Instagram story and had captioned it ‘Finally. This looks so good’ . Replying to him, Shobhita shared a piece of trivia and wrote , “I auditioned for Money Man in 2016. It was a day before we left for Cannes Film Festival for Raman Raghav 2.0 (My debut). Been a beautiful ride. Thank you for the vibes and wonder.”
While Shobhita auditioned for the film in 2016, ‘Money Man’ was completed only in 2021 and was sold to an OTT platform for reportedly $30 million, but it remained in the cans for the next couple of years till American filmmaker Jordan Peele got a chance to view it and decided to give it a theatrical release.
