NEW DELHI: Following a sensational six-wicket haul in the ongoing second Test against England, India’s pace spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah, dedicated his remarkable spell to his son Angad.
Known for his lethal yorkers and impeccable line and length, Bumrah’s spell of 6/45 played a pivotal role in England’s downfall during their first innings.

Expressing his joy about reaching the milestone of 150 Test wickets, Bumrah stated, “I will dedicate this to my son. This is his first tour, and he is traveling with me. I am excited to see him.”
Bumrah became the fastest Indian fast bowler to achieve this feat, delivering 6781 balls for the milestone in Test cricket.

Reflecting on the significance of team success over personal achievements, Bumrah added, “It felt great at that moment, but I do not want to look at numbers. If the team wins, then the performance matters. At the end of the day, if you contribute to the team’s success, there is no better feeling.”
Bumrah’s devastating deliveries left Ollie Pope‘s stumps cart-wheeling and England skipper Ben Stokes bewildered. On Pope’s dismissal, Bumrah recalled a similar wicket during his 2021 tour to England and highlighted the execution of a swinging yorker.

Commenting on dismissing Stokes, Bumrah revealed it was an unplanned delivery, stating, “That was one delivery I had not planned. I had bowled an outswinger, but the ball did not swing and went straight to the arc.”
Expressing his love for Test cricket, Bumrah emphasized his desire to play the longest format for an extended period.
India, led by Bumrah’s exceptional bowling, gained a significant lead by bundling out England for 253. The hosts ended day two at 28/0 in their second innings, with a commanding lead of 171 runs.
