Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who is riding high on the super success of his film, ‘Animal’, recently responded to Javed Akhtar criticising his Ranbir Kapoor starrer. The filmmaker suggested that the lyricist should check his son Farhan Akhtar’s work before criticising his film.
In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Sandeep expressed that it’s apparent the individual hadn’t watched the film.The comment strongly suggests a lack of viewing the entire movie. Sandeep conveyed his disappointment, stating that when someone critiques without having seen the work, it’s disheartening. He pointed out that this sentiment extends beyond the individual in question to anyone who criticizes an artistic creation without considering their own surroundings first.

Sandeep questioned why similar comments weren’t directed at Farhan Akhtar when he was producing Mirzapur. He pointed out that Mirzapur, a show with profanity from around the world, received no such criticism from the individual. Sandeep highlighted the inconsistency, asking why the person wasn’t scrutinizing his son’s work as well, especially considering the show’s translation to Telugu might be unsettling if watched.

Speaking at the Ajanta Ellora International Film Festival in Aurangabad, Javed Akhtar expressed concerns about the type of films gaining success. Without explicitly naming any film, he mentioned scenarios where a man asks a woman to lick his shoe or condones slapping a woman, deeming it dangerous when such scenes contribute to a film’s super hit status. The reference seemed to allude to a scene involving Ranbir and Triptii Dimrii’s characters in a widely discussed film, though no specific names were mentioned.
