Sara Ali Khan‘s movie ‘Murder Mubarak‘ has just released on OTT, and now, the actress is gearing up for the release of her next, ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan‘. The actress is known for always being honest about her opinions, and having a voice of her own. Sara is playing freedom fighter Usha Mehta in ‘Ae Watan..’, and during a chat with ETimes, she revealed that the influence of strong women around her, has played a huge part in who she is.
Sara spoke about what she’s learnt, as she grew up with a largely single mother (Her dad Saif Ali Khan and mum Amrita Singh separated when she was quite young), and that also made her independent.”Living with a single mother has a huge role to play in my life. At a very early age, I realised that koi aapke liye kuch karne nahi wala. They might do also, but you are the mover, people will help you, but the initiative has to come from you. If you’re lucky, the stars align, and with God’s will, you get everything, but that initiation has to be with you. You can’t be waiting around for it, it doesn’t work like that,” says Sara.
The actress admitted that strength comes from within you. “So many times the things you’re looking outside are within you, you only have to push yourself,” she added.

Sara also admitted that she’s really proud of herself for ‘Ae Watan..’ and says she hasn’t felt that way in a while. “It is the most gratifying experience to be headlining a film like this. It’s about time, because you’re going to see a side of me which even I have not seen before. My self-deprecating humour can keep going on, but I’m about to say something which I haven’t said in a long time, and that is I’m really proud of myself. The last time I felt like that was during ‘Kedarnath’. I’m being honest,” says the actress.
