Sara Ali Khan says growing up with a single mom made her strong: ‘Koi aapke liye kuch karne nahi wala hai. You have to..’ – EXCLUSIVE | Hindi Movie News – Times of India
Sara spoke about what she’s learnt, as she grew up with a largely single mother (Her dad Saif Ali Khan and mum Amrita Singh separated when she was quite young), and that also made her independent.”Living with a single mother has a huge role to play in my life. At a very early age, I realised that koi aapke liye kuch karne nahi wala. They might do also, but you are the mover, people will help you, but the initiative has to come from you. If you’re lucky, the stars align, and with God’s will, you get everything, but that initiation has to be with you. You can’t be waiting around for it, it doesn’t work like that,” says Sara.
The actress admitted that strength comes from within you. “So many times the things you’re looking outside are within you, you only have to push yourself,” she added.

Sara also admitted that she’s really proud of herself for ‘Ae Watan..’ and says she hasn’t felt that way in a while. “It is the most gratifying experience to be headlining a film like this. It’s about time, because you’re going to see a side of me which even I have not seen before. My self-deprecating humour can keep going on, but I’m about to say something which I haven’t said in a long time, and that is I’m really proud of myself. The last time I felt like that was during ‘Kedarnath’. I’m being honest,” says the actress.
