After BSP candidate death, polls in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul to be held on May 7 | India News – Times of India

Following the death of a BSP candidate, the poll panel on Wednesday adjourned Lok Sabha polls in Betul (ST) seat of MP, which was to be held on April 26 in phase two. Elections in Betul will be now held in the third phase on May 7. BSP candidate Ashok Bhalavi died of a heart attack on Tuesday. A fresh notification for the poll will now be issued on April 12, allowing the new BSP nominee to file nomination by April 19 for the seat.His nomination will be scrutinised on April 20, with April 22 being the last date for withdrawal of candidature.
