NEW DELHI: Comparing India’s Virat Kohli and Babar Azam of Pakistan involves looking at two of the most accomplished batsmen in modern cricket, each with their own strengths and achievements.
Now, former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez shared his two cents on the comparison between the two modern-day greats.
In a viral video, Hafeez says, “There is no comparison. They both are very good players. Virat Kohli’s performances and services for India are very big and very fantastic. Babar is just doing a good effort for the Pakistan team. I don’t like comparison between the two. Babar is a fantastic player, he has given great performances for the Pakistan team.”
“This criticism is wrong that Babar has to do everything. But Babar has to adapt and enhance his game and skills according to modern-day cricket, that I think Babar is learning very quickly,” Hafeez adds.

Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, is known for his consistency across all formats of the game. He has a remarkable record in both Test and limited-overs cricket, with numerous centuries to his name. Kohli’s ability to chase down targets and his adaptability to different situations make him a formidable batsman.
On the other hand, Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team, has gained recognition for his elegant stroke play and solid technique. He has been particularly impressive in limited-overs cricket, where he has consistently performed well for Pakistan. Azam’s ability to play both pace and spin bowling with ease has made him a key player for his team.
In terms of statistics, Kohli has a higher average and more centuries across formats compared to Azam. However, both players have their own unique style and have contributed significantly to their respective teams’ successes.
Ultimately, comparing Kohli and Azam comes down to personal preferences and the format of the game. While Kohli has proven himself across all formats over a longer period, Azam has shown immense potential and continues to impress with his batting skills.
