NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Parliament, ahead of the commencement of the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha on Monday. Embracing the significance of the occasion, PM Modi addressed the media, heralding the day as a milestone in India’s parliamentary democracy.
This marks the first time in the history of independent India that the oath-taking ceremony of new Members of Parliament is being held in the new Parliament building.
“Today is a historic day for democracy,” Prime Minister Modi said, underscoring the momentous occasion of the commencement of the 18th Lok Sabha in the new Parliament premises.

We will take a resolution of a vibrant democracy. We will take a resolution to fulfil the dreams of the common people as per the directions of the Constitution of India.”
