Angelina Jolie seeks to ‘end the fighting’ with ex-husband Brad Pitt; urges him to withdraw winery lawsuit | – Times of India
The Hollywood stars have been embroiled in a dispute over the winery for years, primarily revolving around Angelina’s attempts to sell her stakes to another party instead of Brad.
In a new statement issued by her legal team, Angelina urged her ex-husband to drop his lawsuit and “end the fighting.” Paul Murphy, Jolie’s lawyer, accused Brad of using the winery and a previous attempt to buy her shares as a means “to punish and control” the actress.In the statement, they allege that Pitt’s team is demanding a newly expanded NDA to bar Jolie from revealing his alleged “personal misconduct and abuse.”The ongoing battle between the couple continued into this month, with Angelina asking Brad to provide all communications related to a 2016 incident that occurred during a family flight. “Those actions are central to these proceedings,” Paul Murphy stated, adding, “We are not at all surprised Mr. Pitt is afraid to turn over the documents demonstrating these facts.”
Murphy continued, saying, “While Angelina again asks Mr. Pitt to end the fighting and finally put their family on a clear path toward healing, unless Mr. Pitt withdraws his lawsuit, Angelina has no choice but to obtain the evidence necessary to prove his allegations wrong.”
In contrast, documents filed by Pitt’s legal team in June 2023 claim that it was actually Jolie’s team who requested a “broader” NDA, and not him.
A close friend of Pitt, familiar with the litigation over the years, told ET that the latest claims of abuse are part of “a pattern of behaviour” for Jolie and her legal team. The source claimed, “Whenever there is a decision that goes against them, they consistently choose to introduce misleading, inaccurate, and/or irrelevant information as a distraction.”
According to the report, Jolie never pressed criminal charges against Pitt, as she believed the best course was for the actor to accept responsibility and help the family recover from the post-traumatic stress he caused.
On the personal front, Pitt has reportedly moved in in his love life and has gone public with his romance with model Ines de Ramon. The couple held hands and seemed open about their romance for the first time since being linked together in 2022.
