HYDERABAD: Design-led manufacturing player Cyient DLM, which is a part of Hyderabad-based Cyient group, has bagged a contract from US aviation giant Boeing for manufacturing the battery diode module (BDM) for its 787 Dreamliner.
This is the first project to be awarded by Boeing to Cyient DLM for production of power electronics and design and certification support for commercial airplanes, Cyient DLM said in a regulatory filing.
Cyient DLM CEO Anthony Montalbano said the contract marks a significant milestone for the company to showcase its focus on design and certification and increase its share of build-to-specification products.
“Cyient DLM is uniquely positioned to offer complete design, development, qualification, certification and production support to global aerospace OEMs,” he said.
The company said it is amongst the first AS9100C aerospace certified electronic manufacturing facilities and the first in India to bag the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP) certification for circuit card assembly (CCA).
Pointing to the over 20 years of experience that Cyient Ltd has in design, certification and qualification of embedded systems for safety critical systems, the company said the combined strengths of Cyient and Cyient DLM position them uniquely to design, certify and manufacture embedded systems for aerospace.
