‘Jail wala CM ab … ‘: BJP’s sharp retort over SC’s bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal | India News – Times of India
BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia criticised Kejriwal and said, “After this judgment, Arvind Kejriwal should step down as Delhi CM immediately. However, Arvind Kejriwal won’t do it because there’s not even an iota of morality left in him. Kejriwal has got conditional bail and, despite that, he is sitting on a constitutional post. It will not be wrong to say ‘bhrastachar yukt, CM abhyukt.'”
“Why did I say that the ‘CM corrupt is CM accused’ (bhrastachar yukt, CM abhyukt) and ‘CM in Jail is now CM in bail’ (Jail wala CM ab bail wala Cm ho gya), because they have come out after paying a bail bond of lakhs. Now, you tell me, a Chief Minister who is sitting in a constitutional position, pays a bond of 10 lakhs and comes out on bail, accused, and a case is ongoing against them—does Delhi need such a Chief Minister?”
Reacting strongly, BJP leaders slammed Kejriwal, stating that the bail conditions highlight his inability to function effectively as a chief minister. “The court has shown a mirror to the Delhi CM,” the BJP stated, demanding Kejriwal’s resignation.
The court mandated a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh along with two sureties. Additionally, Kejriwal has been prohibited from attending office or signing any official files during the bail period. The court also barred him from interacting with witnesses or accessing case-related files, and instructed him to refrain from making any public comments on the merits of the case. The Delhi CM is required to attend all future hearings unless formally exempted by the court.
“The Honorable Supreme Court has once again shown the mirror to your staunch dishonest sinner, your convener Arvind Kejriwal. The corrupt Arvind Kejriwal has got conditional bail.” He also said that Kejriwal should resign, calling him “shameless” and, “There is not a single drop of morality left in him.”

The BJP spokesperson went further, accusing the AAP leader of holding office while being embroiled in legal troubles: “A chief minister is sitting on a constitutional post, and he comes out after giving a bond of Rs 10 lakh. He is an accused and a case is going on against him. Does Delhi want such a chief minister whose DNA is full of corruption in every drop of every vein?”
He also pointed out that multiple AAP leaders, including former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and MP Sanjay Singh, are also under investigation or facing charges, remarking, “What kind of party is this? There is no morality left.”
BJP leader Sajid Yousuf Shah also echoed similar sentiments saying, “The Supreme Court is an autonomous and individual body, and its decisions are respected by all political parties. The Supreme Court’s decision granting bail to Arvind Kejriwal is a tight slap on the faces of those who said that BJP had something to do with his release.”
