NEW DELHI: Union minister Giriraj Singh on Monday trained guns at AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, accusing him of being absent during platinum jubilee celebrations of Samvidhan Diwas when the national anthem was being played.
While responding to Owaisi’s sharp dig at RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Giriraj said that AIMIM chief is a big opponent of the Constitution and only speaks out about Muslims.
“Owaisi is a person who was absent even when the national anthem and national song were being played during the celebration of the Constitution’s platinum jubilee … He is such a big opponent of the Constitution,” Giriraj said.
“He only keeps shouting about Muslims. He never speaks up about anything else. He spoke up about the Palestinian attack, but why is his voice silent about the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh? Why are Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav silent about the issues concerning the gang that breaks the country into pieces?” he added.
This comes a day after Owaisi reacted to Bhagwat’s remarks on the declining population and asked him to come up with a scheme that would encourage people to give birth to more children.
“I want to ask Mohan Bhagwat, what will he give people for giving birth to more children. Will he give Rs 1500 into the bank accounts of those who give birth to more children? Will he introduce a scheme for this?” he asked.
Earlier, during his address in RSS citadel, Nagpur, Bhagwat pointed out the importance of maintaining a fertility rate above 2.1, citing modern population science.
“The decline in population is a matter of concern. Modern population science says that when the fertility rate of a society falls below 2.1, that society vanishes from the earth, even without a crisis,” Bhagwat said.
He warned that several societies and languages have already been lost due to dwindling populations. He also mentioned that India’s population policy, formulated in 1998 or 2002, and acknowledged the need to prevent fertility rates from dropping below the replacement level of 2.1.
