Kangana Ranaut, who is known for her outspoken nature, recently made headlines during her appearance on Indian Idol 15 while promoting her upcoming film Emergency. She responded to a contestant’s question about her relationship with filmmaker Karan Johar, offering a surprising take.
Contestant Manushi Ghosh asked Kangana, “We see a lot of such controversies between you and Karan sir. But my question is, in future, if he offers you any movie, will you do it?” Kangana responded with a playful yet pointed remark, saying, “I’m sorry to say, but Karan sir ko mere saath movie karna chahiye (Karan sir should do a movie with me). I’ll give him a very good role and I’ll make a very good film, which will not be saas-bahu ki chuglibaazi and which will not be just, you know, PR exercise. It will be a proper film and he’ll get a proper role.”
This statement comes after Kangana’s earlier remarks during her chat with The Lallantop. When reminded of her previous comment about Karan Johar playing the stereotypical villain in her biopic, Kangana laughed and said, “Ab toh mere biopic mein bade level pe, bade wale villain honge. Ye chote, mote villain nahi. Local nahi! Isko abhi chota villain banayenge! Ab achche, bade bade villain ayenge mere life mein (Karan Johar is just a local villain. If my biopic is made now, there will be a bigger villain. There are bigger villains in my life now)!”

When Kangana Ranaut talked about the stereotype of Indian actress – ‘She is dumb, giggles on stupid jokes’

Reflecting on her famous Koffee with Karan appearance in 2017, where she labeled Karan as the “flagbearer of nepotism” and “movie mafia,” Kangana commented, “Usko pata he kartute hi uske aisa he ki usko pata he! He is very snooty, very classist. He was taken aback that I gave it back to him (He knows exactly what he does, so he knows).”

On the work front, Kangana is set to play the role of the former prime minister Indira Gandhi in her new film Emergency. It will release on January 17 after months of controversy over its censor certificate and allegations that it misrepresents the Sikh community. The film stars Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade in the role of a young Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Mahima Choudhary as Pupul Jayakar and the late Satish Kaushik in the role of Jagjivan Ram. It is produced by Manikarnika Films.
