Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s were in the headlines this weekend after the couple’s oldest son, Maddox, dropped ‘Pitt’ from his last name.According to Radar Online, Brad’s close friends reportedly believe that Angelina is behind the family rift and is accusing her of separating the kids from their dad.

What happened?

Maddox, now 24, was adopted from Cambodia long before the Angelina and Brad’s romance began. Following the couple’s romance and marriage, he went by the name Maddox Jolie-Pitt for several years. When he worked on Angelina’s film ‘Maria’ in 2024, his name in the credits featured ‘Pitt’. But with her latest project, ‘Couture’, he’s listed as Maddox Jolie, with no mention of ‘Pitt’ anymore.Naturally, Brad’s camp is raising issue over this public diss. In fact, one of Pitt’s friends told TMZ, “It’s sad, this is a textbook example of what a successful campaign to separate a family looks like.” They say Angelina’s spent years turning the kids against him, ever since their messy split and eventual divorce back in 2016.

She even hired her own lawyer, as she wanted to make it clear this was her decision, not her mom’s. By August 2024, it was official. She’s now Shiloh Jolie, and not Shiloh Jolie-Pitt.Vivienne’s twin, Knox, and brother Pax, have not gone public about their last names, but both seem to keep their distance from Brad. Knox is so close to Angelina that he even joined her as her date to the Governor’s Ball at the Oscars last year.Neither Brad nor Angelina has said anything about the kids opting to drop their father’s last name.
