PM Modi speaks to UAE President, both agree on ensuring safe navigation through Strait of Hormuz | India News – The Times of India

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and discussed the ongoing situation in West Asia, agreeing on the need for safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. During the telephonic conversation, PM Modi condemned all attacks on the Gulf country and agreed with the UAE leader to continue working together for the early restoration of peace, security, and stability in the region.In a post on X, PM Modi wrote “Spoke with my brother HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and conveyed advance Eid greetings.“We discussed the current situation in West Asia. Reiterated India’s strong condemnation of all attacks on the UAE that have resulted in loss of innocent lives and damage to civilian infrastructure,” the Prime Minister added.The PM also noted that he and the UAE President agreed on the importance of ensuring safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.“We will continue to work together for the early restoration of peace, security and stability in the region,” PM Modi said.According to PTI, this was the second time that Prime Minister Modi spoke to the UAE President since the US-Israel attack on Iran. Iran retaliated by targeting several Gulf countries.Since the outbreak of the current conflict, PM Modi has also held talks with leaders from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Israel, and Iran.
