Alia Bhatt celebrates one year of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ with Sanjay Leela Bhansali; shares pic from director’s birthday bash – Times of India

Alia Bhatt on Saturday, marked 1 year since the release of her film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ by posting a photo of herself with her director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The click is believed to have been taken at SLB’s birthday bash that was held at his residence last evening. The director hosted a white-themed bash that saw everyone from Alia Bhatt to Ranveer Singh and the cast of ‘Heeramandi’ including Aditi Rao Hydari, and Sonakshi Sinha dress their best in all-white attire.

Posting the photo, Alia captioned it as, “One year of our Gangu #gangubaizindabad #ganguwalasafed.”

After the success of ‘Gangubai’, Alia and Bhansali are set to reunite once again for ‘Baiju Bawra’. The film will see her starring alongside Ranveer as the male lead. According to the latest reports, Alia will end her maternity break and begin filming the SLB project around June or July.

The film will also mark Alia’s second collaboration with Ranveer after ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’.

Bhansali, on the other hand, is gearing up for the release of his OTT series ‘Heeramandi’. The teaser introduces the viewers to the central characters of courtesans played by actresses Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Sheikh. The series explores the cultural reality of Heeramandi, a dazzling district, through the stories of courtesans and their patrons set against the tumultuous backdrop of the Indian freedom struggle of the 1940s.
