NEW DELHI: A joint team of Maharashtra ATS and Kerala police have nabbed a suspect in the Kozhikode train fire incident from Ratnagiri in Maharashtra.
Identified as Shahrukh Saifi, the 24-year-old is accused of setting fire inside D1 coach of Alappuzha-Kannur Main Executive Express train near Elathoor in Kozhikode district.

Three people had lost their lives in the incident.
On Tuesday, the 18-member SIT constituted to investigate the arson attack held its first meeting in Kozhikode.
“A comprehensive investigation is under way and tasks were assigned to each member of the team. The meeting charted out a course of investigation,” an officer said after the meeting.
He said that the probe was in the preliminary stage and more details can be divulged only after a further enquiry.
The arsonist set passengers on fire inside D1 compartment of Alappuzha-Kannur Express near Elathur after splashing inflammable liquid on them. Three passengers, including a child, died after they reportedly jumped off the moving train to escape the fire; nine passengers sustained burn injuries around 9.30pm on Sunday night.
