Exclusive interview with the author

Q: Can You Tell Me About The Book?

A: We lie, but have you ever thought why do we tell lies? Lies keep us safe from the truth, because truth in itself is no less than a dare. Lying is the cowards way out but telling the truth means trusting, which is challenging too. Hence, I believe life is a game of lies or dare. My book, lies or dare revolves around Akshi Malhotra a 14-year-old, whose life, like ours, became a game of lies or dare. But one such lie makes her guilty, so guilty that the guilt consumes her, and eats up her from the inside. Read to find out.

Q: What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?

A: I used to write poems since the fifth grade, but writing a book was a totally different experience. Consistency was one of the main things I learned, making sure no day goes to waste and I am able to add something to the story every day. Another thing I learned would be how to keep the reader engaged, to know when the story is getting boring, and when to tell what to the readers.

Q: What Is The Most Difficult Part About Writing For You?

A: Writing a book seems anything but easy. For me, personally, connecting the dots was the most difficult part about writing. Most of the times, it felt like the story was missing something, the story was lacking something. Filling in those gaps was a chllenging task.

Q: What Advice Would You Give To Aspiring Authors?

A: Though I would say I’m an aspiring author myself, I think one of the main things about being a writer is being yourself, to just pour out your thoughts without the worry of what the reader might think. The beauty of literature is that it comes from within, it can’t be forced, so just be yourself while writing, your opinions and your thoughts, nothing more, nothing less.
