VIJAYAWADA: Nine people, including three juveniles, assaulted and urinated into the mouth of a 26-year-old tribal youth in Ongole town. The accused were allegedly drunk, called the victim to an isolated place, attacked him with sticks and stones and forced the youth to keep his mouth open as they urinated into his mouth. One of the juveniles recorded the incident and circulated it among his friends.
Although the act took place on June 19, it came to light on Wednesday after the video went viral on social media, sparking an outrage and prompting cops to book the accused under the SC and the ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
A special team has been formed to nab them. The arrested accused were produced before a court that remanded them in judicial custody.
Prakasam district superintendent of police Mallika Garg said the nine accused and the tribal youth were childhood friends and were involved in property related crimes. The victim had allegedly eloped with a former girlfriend of one of the accused. Some had ‘rowdy sheets’ against them, including the victim, who was accused in 28 property offences.
