Curfew Relaxed in Haldwani Except for Violence Epicentre | India News – Times of India

After reviewing the situation, local administration in Haldwani relaxed the curfew in large parts of the city on Saturday and restricted it to the “epicentre” of violence in Banphoolpura and a few surrounding areas such as Tikonia, Teenpani, Gaulapar Bypass and Army cantonment workshop line, report Pankul Sharma & Sonali Mishra. The administration has provided relaxation in opening of shops and traffic movement in the city, including the busy Nainital-Bareilly highway. Curfew was imposed in Haldwani city on the evening of Feb 8 following riots that broke out in minority-dominated Banphoolpura area.
Chief secretary Radha Raturi on Saturday directed the divisional commissioner of Kumaon division Deepak Rawat to conduct a magisterial inquiry and submit a report within 15 days.
