Akshat Vasdev & Abhay Vasdev Talks About His Book “Fur and Felony”

Akshat and Abhay are brothers, and they both helped each other to write a book inspired by their rottweiler, Bahubali. They teamed up to write this book at the young ages of 13 and 16. Abhay, who became 16 recently, dreams of being a famed doctor in the future and is working hard for it. Same goes for Akshat, who is 13. They are both Boy Scouts and are boys yearning for adventure, and sure enough, the book Fur and Felony grants exactly that.

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?

A:Our dog and our family. Our dog really fueled us to create this book on him and we thought it would be special to write a book at a young age. Our family also motivated us and gave us ideas when we didn’t know what to write or just felt like giving up.

Q: Was The Character Inspired By A Real Person?

A: Not a person, no. The character was inspired by our dog, Bahu, short for Bahubali. We implemented the same playfulness, loyalty, and watchdog-like attributes of Bahu to Billy, the protagonist.

Q: What Is The Most Difficult Part About Writing For You?

A:When writing, there are always those parts in the plot where you don’t know what to write. After hitting that point, you just want to give up and that’s exactly what happened to us until our family told us some ideas. With those ideas, we changed the entire books plot into a better version of it.

Q: hat Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?

A:Success is when you push through and finally reach your goal. To achieve success, you need to put in hard work and time.

Q: What Advice Would You Give To Aspiring Authors?

A: We would say that aspiring authors should just push through and know that it is extremely hard to write a book by yourself. Aspiring authors should also know that you have to put in a lot of time and dedication if you really want to write a book. But in the end, just believe you can do it!
