NEW DELHI: Pakistan suffered a crushing 120-run defeat to the West Indies in the second Test at Multan Cricket Stadium on Monday. Chasing 254 for victory, Pakistan, despite winning the first Test by 127 runs, crumbled for just 133 in 44 overs.
Left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican, who had taken 4 wickets for 43 runs in the first innings, followed up with a stellar performance in the second innings, claiming five wickets to finish with match figures of 9 for 70 runs.

This historic defeat, marking Pakistan’s first home Test loss to the West Indies in 35 years, has dropped them to the bottom of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 standings.

With this landmark victory, West Indies will end their WTC campaign in second-last place, with no remaining series left in the current WTC cycle for either team.
Pakistan’s dismal performance in the 2023-25 WTC cycle saw them secure only five wins from 14 Tests, finishing with a PCT% of 27.98.

Sachin Tendulkar’s contribution in ISPL is invaluable, says League Commissioner Suraj Samat

West Indies, with 3 wins, 2 draws, and 8 losses in 13 matches, concluded the cycle in 8th place with a PCT% of 28.21.
South Africa will finish atop the WTC 2023-25 standings with a PCT% of 69.44, while Australia, who will face Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series starting January 29, will secure second place.
Even with a complete sweep against Sri Lanka in the upcoming series at Galle International Stadium, Australia cannot overtake South Africa in the standings.
