Exclusive interview with the author

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?

A: The Flag’s Whisper was inspired by my deep love for India’s heritage and a wish to help children explore our past. I wanted to make history feel alive for kids through curiosity, friendship, and time travel rather than just facts in a textbook.

Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?

A: The Flag’s Whisper is a time-travel adventure designed to help young readers (ages 6–10) discover the history and evolution of the Indian flag — from its earliest versions to the tricolour we proudly salute today. The story transforms historical facts into a vivid, heartwarming experience — showing that every symbol on our flag carries a voice, a struggle, and a dream.

Q: What Does The Title Mean?

A: At first glance, The Flag’s Whisper suggests a flag that’s softly speaking — as if the Indian flag itself has a voice. It’s a gentle, magical idea: that if we truly listen, the flag will tell us stories from the past — of courage, sacrifice, unity, and hope.

Q: Was The Character Inspired By A Real Person?

A: Yes, the character Dhruva, the curious and compassionate leader of the group, is deeply inspired by my own son, Dhruva — not just in name, but in spirit.

Q: What Do You Think Happened To The Characters After The Book Ended?

A: I guess this whisper opened the door to another magical encounter for the characters to understand their country much better.

Q: How Long Does It Take You To Write A Book?

A: It likely took me about a year to a year and a half to bring The Flag’s Whisper to life.

Q: How Did Publishing Your First Book Change Your Process Of Writing?

A: Ive shifted from writing with instinct to writing with structure. I’ve learned to visualize every page before I write it. I understood that writing is collaboration, not isolation. Before publishing, I wrote with curiosity. After publishing, I write with clarity.

Q: What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?

A: Success is about fulfillment. It’s the quiet satisfaction that comes when something I create touches another heart, inspires a child to ask a question, or makes someone see familiar things in a new light. Success is when my son, or any child, reads my book and pauses even for a second to feel proud of the tricolour fluttering above them. It’s when curiosity replaces memorization, and history feels like home.

Q: What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?

A: I learnt how history becomes alive when told through emotion. I learnt the timeline of our India Flag. I learnt storytelling can be your form of service to the nation. I learnt to rediscovered my own childhood curiosity — through Dhruva and the gang.
