Six security personnel were killed and seven injured in an attack by Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday.

According to sources, intense exchange of firing took place in Manato, Kurram district.

In the firing, six security personnel were killed and seven were injured, they said.

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), referred to as ‘Fitna-al-Khawarij’ by the Pakistani state, is a banned group.

The latest incident comes days after five people were killed following an attack by TTP on a government vehicle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The assault targeted a vehicle of Shah Wali, the assistant commissioner of North Waziristan.
