In commemoration of the legendary musician K.V. Narayanaswamy’s Remembrance Day, the Sri Ariyakkudi & Sri K.V. Narayanaswamy Memorial Trust organised a series of concerts. Pattabhirama Pandit presented a kutcheri at Arkay Convention Centre, accompanied by Mullaivasal Chandramouli on the violin, B. Ganapathyram on the mridangam and Trichy Murali on the ghatam.

Despite some vocal strain, Pattabhirama Pandit steered the concert skillfully with an engaging repertoire, including several compositions that evoked memories of the great KVN. Adhering to the traditional practice of hinting at the main raga through the opening varnam, he began with Veenai Kuppaiyer’s classic ‘Sami ninne’, a staple taught to almost every student initiated into the world of varnams.
