Just days ahead of the re-test scheduled for June 21, 2026, claims have surfaced on social media and messaging platform Telegram alleging that the NEET UG re-test question paper is being sold. The reports have sparked widespread concern among medical aspirants and their parents across the country.
Some candidates flagged the issue on the microblogging platform X, tagging the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Home Ministry’s cybersecurity handle while sharing purported evidence.
One user, Prince Srivastava, posted, “Dear @NTA_Exams and @Cyberdost, I’ve identified a few Telegram pages run by the same individual. They are selling RE-NEET 2026 question papers. Kindly take immediate action.” In response, the NTA stated that its cybercrime cell is looking into the matter.
Already facing scrutiny over the NEET UG exam, now multiple Telegram groups and channels have claimed to possess the original question paper for the June 21 examination. Fraudsters are reportedly exploiting anxious candidates by offering fake papers, extorting large sums of money, and jeopardizing students’ futures. Several aspirants have shared screenshots and links to such channels, bringing the issue into the public domain.
Following the viral complaints, the NTA acted promptly and issued an official clarification. The agency stated that it is actively monitoring all such claims circulating on social media and Telegram. It further assured candidates that the matter has been referred to Cyber Dost and relevant cybercrime units to block these fraudulent channels and take strict action against those involved.
The re-test is being conducted on June 21, 2026, following controversy over grace marks and alleged irregularities in the NEET UG 2026 main examination results, as directed by the court and the government. The NTA has reiterated its commitment to ensuring transparency and fairness. However, the emergence of paper leak claims just before the exam has once again raised serious concerns about security and digital monitoring, adding to the anxiety of students appearing for the re-exam.
The NTA has emphasised that the confidentiality of the NEET UG exam remains intact and has urged students to ignore such rumors and focus on their preparation. Any suspicious activity should be reported immediately to the cyber cell or the NTA’s official helpline.
