Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump met on Tuesday on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Evian, France, marking their first face-to-face interaction in nearly 16 months.

The meeting comes at a significant juncture, with ties between New Delhi and Washington having faced turbulence in recent months following Operation Sindoor and the Trump administration’s decision to impose steep tariffs on Indian goods.
