Amul slashes prices of over 700 products after GST rate cut, effective September 22. Details here

The revised prices will take effect from September 22, 2025, the federation said in a statement.
The Gujarat Co-Operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets dairy products under the Amul brand, announced a major price cut across its portfolio, covering more than 700 product packs. The move comes as the cooperative decided to fully pass on the benefits of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate reduction to consumers. The revised prices will take effect from September 22, 2025, the federation said in a statement.
GCMMF said the new prices apply to a wide range of categories, including butter, ghee, UHT milk, ice cream, cheese, paneer, chocolates, bakery products, frozen snacks, condensed milk, peanut spread and malt-based drinks.
The MRP of Amul butter (100 gm) has been reduced to ₹58 from ₹62.
Ghee rates have been cut by ₹40 to ₹610 per litre.
The Amul processed cheese block (1kg) will now cost ₹545, down ₹30.
The frozen paneer (200 gm) pack will be available at ₹95, compared to the earlier ₹99.
“Amul believes the reduction in prices will spur consumption of a wide range of dairy products, particularly ice cream, cheese and butter, as the per capita consumption remains very low in India, creating a large growth opportunity,” GCMMF said.
The federation, owned by 3.6 million farmers, added that the move is expected to boost demand for its products and contribute to turnover growth.
The announcement comes days after Mother Dairy also slashed retail prices of its products, effective September 22, following the GST rate cut.
