Exclusive interview with the author
Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?
A:My father is a retired teacher with a propensity to write poems. He always imbibed one thing in me i.e. Knowledge should not be locked in boxes. We should try to percolate whatever we know to everyone. It may help someone or will help you. That’s the reason I felt to write something I found relevant.
Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?
A: Kaunteya -The Firstborn is a narrative from the life of one of the greatest warrior of Mahabharata i.e. Karna. We all would have either heard or read stories of Karna. This book is an attempt to connect incidents from Karna’s life in modern context. For instance, how his munificent nature can help us learn something even today. Do read the book to find our more touching instances from Karna’s life.
Q: What Does The Title Mean?
A: Kaunteya literally means offspring of Kunti. Karna and the Pandavas were Kaunteyas. This book is about the first Kaunteya – Karna.
Q: What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?
A:Bringing meaningful impact to the life of others
Q: How Important Is Research To You When Writing A Book?
A: Research is the core of any writing process. The better and deeper the research, more insightful the content. As per me research is the most important part in writing. Its is like backbone of the whole process.
Q:Do You Believe A Book Cover Plays An Important Role In The Selling Process?
A:In my opinion, Book cover is like one’s face. The more attractive, eye catchy, meaningful or connected to the content it is, the more it helps in selling the book.
Q:What Are Your Top 3 Books?
A:1. Man’s search for meaning – Viktor Frankl,
2. Tuesdays with Morrie – Mitch Albom,
3. 7 Habits of Highly Effective People – Steve Covey.
Q: Where Do You Get Your Greatest Ideas For Writing?
A: Reading books helps a lot in opening up new avenues of thoughts/ideas. I prefer reading something whenever free or off the grid.
Q: What Advice Would You Give To Aspiring Authors?
A: We all are authors somewhere in the book of life. Life keeps on narrating its stories and we play the role. Anyone who decide to pen down this journey can become an author. My advice to aspiring authors would be the same, pen down moments/thoughts consistently and you will become an author.
