Ankit Gupta Opens Up On His Casting Couch Experience: ‘They Go On Their Knees, Say Let Me Touch You’ – News18

Ankit Gupta is one of the most popular actors in the Hindi television industry today. While he has worked on shows like Balika Vadhu and Begusarai, he became a household name after he starred in the show Udaariyan. He also appeared on an earlier season of Bigg Boss and has since been the talk of the town. However, on his way to success, Ankit also encountered the unfortunate casting couch.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, Ankit opened up about his casting couch experience. He said, “I have met such people that I can’t even tell you.” He added, “There are people, they call you with offers, and they tell you lots of stories and they take a lot of names… usko mein banaya, isko mein launch kiya, to convince you they would say anything.”

“Everybody does it, Ankit. You want to work in the industry? This is how it’s done. Tu abhi nahi karega, 2-3 saal baad ayega, phir kahega aab kar lo, mein nahi karunga. (You are not doing it right now, but you will return after a few years and agree to do it then.) You don’t wanna waste 2-3 years,” Ankit recalled being told.

“I have met such people… I don’t know if I should say this on camera or not, they would go down on their knees and say, at least let me touch you. That’s it, nothing,” the actor said.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ankit has been receiving appreciation for his performance in the shows Junooniyatt and Udaariyaan. His bond with co-star and fellow Bigg Boss 16 alum Priyanka Chahar Choudhary also often makes the headlines.
