Popular street food vada pav is loved by many, especially locals in Mumbai. Actress Rupali Ganguly is one of them. Recently she expressed her fondness for vada pav by dedicating the love song, You Are My Sonia from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham to the humble street snack. In the wholesome video, Rupali unpacks the vada pav and jokingly sings to it. It appears that the video was taken in her set’s vanity room.

Rupali Ganguly shared this video with her 2.9 million Instagram followers and wrote, “Vadapav is an emotion…Vadapav is romance…Vadapav is the maharashtrian in me!” Her video already has over 23,000 likes in less than 24 hours.

Other than vada pav, Rupali loves to eat vegetarian Bengali food. In 2022, the 46-year-old actor told Curly Tales that the Durga Pujo bhog food is her soul food. She listed dishes like Chola dal, Shukto (vegetable curry), Mochar Ghonto (banana blossom dish and Chorchori (vegetable side dish), as some of her favourite dishes. Rupali also highlighted that Bengali cuisine has a reputation for being fish-heavy, but many vegetarian options are overlooked.

Rupali also shared that her husband Ashwin K Verma is an excellent cook and pampers her by cooking great home food. He also packs food and sends it on the sets of Anupama as an expression of care and love.

Rupali first gained recognition for her role as Monisha in the famous comedy sitcom series Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. After a gap of several years, she rose to stardom with the launch of the TV drama Anupama in 2020. Rupali plays the beloved title role in the show.

Over the years many Bollywood celebs have expressed their love for vada pav. Recently, actor Manoj Bajpayee told Curly Tales that he often stacks up on vada pav from his favourite vada pav food joint. The veteran actor shared that his daughter’s school is in the Mira Road area in Mumbai. Whenever he happens to go to her daughter’s school, he makes it a point to visit the Vada Pav joint near the school and buy a few Vada Pav parcels. He explained that since he follows intermittent fasting and eats small meals between 9 am and 3 pm, he sometimes has to wait patiently till he gets to relish his favourite snack.
