Wild elephant found dead in Kerala’s Wayanad

A wild elephant, around 10 years old, was found dead in Wayanad district of Kerala on Tuesday (February 11, 2025) morning.

The elephant was found dead near an AI electric fence set up to detect wildlife movements in a swampy area of Irulam village around 5.30 a.m., a forest official said.

The exact cause of death is not known and can be ascertained only after a post-mortem examination is carried out, the official added.
