The Lok Sabha failed to function on Friday (February 6, 2026) as the Opposition kept up its protests over the Indo-U.S. trade deal and over excerpts from an unpublished book by former Army chief General M.M. Naravane on the 2020 face-off with China.

Speaker Om Birla commented that he cannot run “such a House”. Stating that 19 hours and 13 minutes had been wasted due to disruptions in the current session, he said members were disrespecting the House. He said many MPs, including Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, had questions lined up.
