Since Navrati is just around the corner as well, women have incorporated both cricket and the festive spirit of Navratri in their tattoos.
The World Cup fever has gripped the nation hard and now everyone is gearing up for the India Vs Pakistan match to be held on Saturday in Ahmedabad. Both nations come to a standstill when there is a standoff between the two teams on the pitch. There will undoubtedly be thousands of spectators vouching for our boys in blue at the Narendra Modi Stadium tomorrow and it seems like women have found a new way to support the team.
Ahead of the match, some women got themselves tattooed in honour of the Indian cricket team. Showing off the tattoos on the back is a new and innovative technique for celebrating the World Cup this year. Since Navrati is just around the corner as well, these women have incorporated both cricket and the festive spirit of Navratri in their tattoos.
One lady has sported a tattoo showing a faceoff between Indian team captain Rohit Sharma and Pakistan team captain Babar Azam with the World Cup trophy between them. Another woman injects some Navratri fun as she has got Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma playing Garba inked on her back. And that is not all. Another woman has sported a tattoo preaching peace between Israel and Palestine in the wake of the recent attack of the militant group Hamas in Israel.
It is noteworthy that Shardiya Navratri starts on the second day of the match between India and Pakistan. Tattoo artists have prepared tattoo designs keeping both the big events in mind. Tattoos have been made using body-friendly hues like red, white, golden yellow and black. Depending on the colour, design and size of the tattoo, the cost of getting inked might be anywhere from Rs 5,00 and Rs 5,000.
Rajendra Valand, a tattoo artist in Ahmedabad, said that there is a lot of enthusiasm among his customers regarding the match and hence these new cricket-specialised tattoos have been conceptualised. He added that he has inked such tattoos on around 25 people.
