Mohammed Afsal secured a silver in the Men’s 800m race while Praveen Chithravel got a bronze in the men’s triple jump event at the Asian Games.
India continues to increase their medals tally as they bring in two more medals, a silver and a bronze in the Athletics events at the Asian Games.
Mohammed Afsal managed to secure a silver medal in the men’s 800m race at the Asian Games taking place in Hangzhou, China. He managed to set a time of 1:48:43s as he secured the second position.

Afsal despite not being able to better his time from the heat-2 result of 1:46.79, still went on to secure a silver medal.
He was within the top 2 spots during the race but he managed to pull through and secure the second spot in the race where he was beaten by Essa Ali S Kzwani of Saudi Arabia who clinched first with a marginally better timing of 1:48.05s

Meanwhile, Praveen Chithravel managed to win a bronze medal in the Men’s Triple Jump event at the Asian Games. He finished the event with a score of 16.68 securing him third position.
Fellow competitor and Indian athlete, Abdulla Aboobacker Narangolintevida marginally missed out on a medal with a score of 16.62.
Chithravel had also previously secured a bronze medal at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games which took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
