Biden ‘Struck’ By Modi’s Ability To Find New Areas Of India-US Synergy At Greenville Meet – News18

US President Joe Biden said that he is struck by PM Modi’s ability to find new ways to cooperate as he hosted him at his residence in Delaware’s Greenville.

US President Joe Biden on Saturday (local time) said that he is ‘struck’ by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘ability to find new ways of cooperation’ as he hosted the Indian Prime Minister at his home in Delaware’s Greenville.

Prime Minister Modi, in a social media post, said that he held fruitful talks with the US President at his residence and thanked Biden for his hospitality.

PM Modi in his social media post said that he and Biden held talks on regional and global issues during the meeting.

The outgoing US President highlighted that US-India is stronger and more dynamic than it was at any other point in the history of the US.

“The United States’ partnership with India is stronger, closer, and more dynamic than any time in history. Prime Minister Modi, each time we sit down, I’m struck by our ability to find new areas of cooperation. Today was no different,” Biden said after the meeting.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accompanied by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri for the meeting with President Biden.

The White House termed it a personal meeting and the US delegation included high-ranking officials such as Secretary of State Antony Blinken, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, and US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti.

The External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared on social media what was discussed between Joe Biden and Narendra Modi at the meeting and provided some key updates from the Greenville meet-and-greet which lasted for over an hour.

“India-United States further advancing the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. PM Modi and US President Joe Biden held bilateral talks in Wilmington, Delaware today. In a special gesture, the meeting was hosted by President Biden at his residence. Discussions focused on ways to further deepen the India-United States bilateral partnership in areas of mutual interest. Leaders exchanged views on global and regional issues, including the Indo-Pacific region and beyond,” ministry spokesperson Jaiswal said.
