American GM Fabiano Caruana got the better of Arjun Erigaisi to give USA the advantage at the Checkmate India vs United States Of America event at the E-Sports Stadium Arlington.

The lineup features four players from the world’s top ten, along with leading women players, youth prodigies, and two of the best-known chess streamers globally, whose combined audiences exceed ten million followers.
The event consists of five rounds, each featuring one USA vs. India pairing. The time control is set at 10 minutes per player, with a one-second increment once the clock falls below one minute. The games must be played to checkmate, stalemate, or flag.
Team USA will have White in all games played in Arlington, while India will hold White in the return leg.
In case of a draw, the game will move to a five-minute overtime game, followed by a one-minute shootout, and additional one-minute games until a winner is determined.
