Dr Ravinder Kumar is an ex officer of IRPS, 1984 batch. He has wide interests. Has authored more than 20 books on various subjects.

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?
A: Reading about Indian film industry’s strides I used to wonder how little people in general know about what goes on in the film industry.
Q: What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?
A: So many many facts which I didn’t know earlier that people had more than anything else, passion about taking this craft forward. It is not about money making it is about the art and artists.
Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?
A: It is a collection of little known facts about well known stars/artists. The glorious history of Indian cinema and how people have brought this industry to where it is today.
Q: What Does The Title Mean?
A: Title is gently asking people and inviting readers whether they know these facts about Indian Film Industry. Cinema in India is all pervasive. It touches life of every indian in one way or the other.
Q: Was The Character Inspired By A Real Person?
A: No it is rather fascinating tale of fascinating people. I wonder what drives them to devote their entire life in the pursuit of their craft.
Q:Where Do You Get Your Information Or Ideas For Your Books?
A: So much data /information is spread everywhere be it internet/websites/news papers and journals. The entire credit goes to the rightful owners of these photographs and articles.
Q: Do You Try More To Be Original Or To Deliver To Readers What They Want?
A: I have written original, what came to my heart. In other words it is from heart to hearts (of the readers).
Q: What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?
A: Self contentment first. What you wanted to tell you have succeeded in telling.
Q: Which Of Your Books Were The Most Enjoyable To Write?
A: I get engrossed whatever I write, so I enjoyed writing my all the books.
Q: How Important Is Research To You When Writing A Book?
A:Facts must be checked and double checked. Any factual error makes ones writing unauthentic.
Q: Do You Believe A Book Cover Plays An Important Role In The Selling Process?
A: It helps in attracting attention and gives an insight in the psyche of the author.
Q: What Advice Would You Give To Aspiring Authors?
A: Keep trying, keep a critical eye…not all what you write is fit for consumption.
