Exclusive interview with the author

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?

A: Pain is mainly seen as a symptom, but it truly defines lives. Throughout my career as an interventional pain specialist, I’ve witnessed how pain affects not just the body but also emotions, relationships, and overall well-being. I wrote Aches to Assets to challenge how we view pain—not as something to endure but as something we can transform. Beyond the personal struggles of patients, I also wanted to shed light on the commercialization of healthcare, where pain often becomes a business rather than a condition to heal. This book is my way of empowering individuals with knowledge, helping them reclaim control over their health while advocating for a more ethical, patient-centered approach in the medical industry.

Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?

A: Aches to Assets is a book about pain—not just how you feel in your body, but how it affects your emotions, relationships, and even your sense of purpose. I’ve seen people lose so much to pain—the ability to play with their kids, pursue their passions, or simply enjoy a pain-free day. But pain isn’t just personal; it’s also part of a bigger system where healthcare often treats it as a business. This book has two main goals: Helping people take control of their pain – I’ll share insights on different treatments, practical ways to manage pain, and improving your quality of life. Exposing the realities of modern healthcare – I dive into how pain is often monetized, how hospitals operate like businesses, and what that means for patients and doctors. Whether you’re struggling with pain or a doctor wanting to make a difference, this book is about finding hope and turning pain into something powerful.

Q: What Does The Title Mean?

A: The title Aches to Assets represents transformation— turning pain into something meaningful. On a personal level, it’s about taking control of your pain, finding strength in struggles, and reclaiming your life. From a healthcare perspective, it highlights how pain is often treated as a business asset, shaping treatments and decisions. This book is about shifting how we see pain—not as a burden but as something that can lead to growth, change, and even progress.

Q: What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?

A: Writing Aches to Assets taught me that pain is more than just a symptom—it shapes lives in ways we often overlook. I realized how different pain feels for everyone and how much misinformation exists around managing it. I also saw how the healthcare system sometimes prioritizes profit over patient care, making it harder for people to find real solutions. But the biggest lesson? Pain doesn’t have to define you. You can take control and turn pain into strength with the proper knowledge and support.

Q: Was The Character Inspired By A Real Person?

A: There isn’t just one character in Aches to Assets—the stories and experiences in the book are inspired by real people I’ve treated, spoken to, and learned from. Every patient I’ve met has shaped my understanding of pain—how it affects not just the body but also the mind, relationships, and daily life. Their struggles, resilience, and journeys toward healing inspired me to write this book. So while there isn’t a single character, the heart of this book comes from real people and their experiences with pain.

Q: What Do You Think Happened To The Characters After The Book Ended?

A: Since Aches to Assets is based on real experiences rather than fictional characters, the journey doesn’t “end” with the book. The people whose stories inspired it continue to navigate their pain but with better awareness, strategies, and support. Some have found lasting relief through the right treatments, while others have learned to manage their pain in ways that let them reclaim their lives. And for healthcare workers, I hope this book sparks a shift toward more ethical, patient-focused care. The goal isn’t just to end pain struggles —but also to transform it into strength, progress, and a better future for individuals and the healthcare system.

Q: How Long Does It Take You To Write A Book?

A: Writing Aches to Assets was a journey beyond just putting words on paper. It took 3-4 months of gathering real experiences, researching, and refine my thoughts. Some parts flowed naturally from my work as a pain specialist, while others required more profound research—especially on the healthcare system and pain management advancements. More than anything, I wanted this book to truly help people, so I took the time to make it insightful and impactful. Every book is different, but this was a labor of passion and purpose.

Q: Where Do You Get Your Information Or Ideas For Your Books?

A: The idea for Aches to Assets came from my experiences as an Interventional pain specialist in Hyderabad. Every day, I see how pain affects people—not just physically, but emotionally & mentally too. Their struggles, resilience, and journeys toward healing deeply inspired me. I also gathered insights from medical research, pain management advancements, and the healthcare system’s realities. By combining patient stories, scientific knowledge, and my observations, I wanted to write a book that is both informative and relatable, helping people understand pain better.

Q: Do You Try More To Be Original Or To Deliver To Readers What They Want?

A: The best writing balances both. With Aches to Assets, my goal was to be original by sharing honest, firsthand experiences about pain and the healthcare system—things that aren’t always discussed openly. At the same time, I wanted to give readers what they truly need: practical solutions, hope, and a deeper understanding of how to take control of their pain. So, rather than just writing what people expect, I focused on what would help them. I aimed to write something insightful, accurate, and meaningful—because pain isn’t just a story; it’s a lived experience that deserves the proper attention.

Q: What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?

A: Success isn’t about numbers, recognition, or achievements— it’s about making a real difference. As a pain specialist, success means helping people reclaim their lives from pain, giving them hope, and empowering them with the proper knowledge. In a broader sense, success is about impact. If Aches to Assets helps even one person feel understood, find relief, or navigate the healthcare system better, that’s a success. It’s about using my skills and experiences to create positive change for individuals and how pain is treated in medicine.
