One97 Communications Limited, which owns the brand Paytm, the payments and financial services distribution company, has enabled Paytm users to make UPI payments at select international locations. Now travellers can make seamless payments abroad through the app where UPI is accepted.
Paytm Launches UPI International for Seamless Global Payments
Indian travellers can now make cashless, seamless payments abroad through the Paytm app at destinations where UPI is accepted, including popular locations in the UAE, Singapore, France, Mauritius, Bhutan, and Nepal. This enhancement allows users to pay effortlessly for a wide range of services such as shopping, dining, and local experiences overseas.
Quick Setup and Activation for International Travel
Setting up UPI International on the Paytm app is simple and can be done with a one-time activation linked to the user’s bank account. When scanning a UPI-enabled QR code abroad, the app will prompt activation for easy access. Users can select a usage period from 1 to 90 days based on their travel duration. The service can be deactivated anytime to ensure that payments are only made when intended, offering greater control and preventing accidental transactions after returning to India.
Transparency and Control Over Currency Conversion
During payment, users can view real-time foreign exchange rates and any conversion fees applied by their bank. This ensures full transparency, helping travellers understand the cost of their purchases before completing the transaction.

Paytm’s UPI International service allows travellers to make cashless payments at renowned destinations. Whether shopping in Dubai, dining at vibrant eateries in Singapore, exploring beach markets in Mauritius, or visiting artisanal craft shops in Bhutan and Nepal, users can enjoy seamless UPI payments wherever accepted.

Paytm recently launched the UPI statement download feature, enabling users to track and manage their spending with detailed transaction records. This tool is especially useful for budgeting during and after international travel.
