Haniya Aziz Talks About Her Book “The Enchanted Microwave”

Haniya Aziz is a 12-year-old author and was born on 12 July, 2010 in Gorakhpur but had been brought up in Bangalore, Lucknow and currently Delhi. She has been fond of writing since the age of 10 and managed to get more than 40 story ideas. Other than stories, she is rather a songwriter, music creator, script writer and poet. Quotes and photography are my forte too. Fantasy and mystery is more like a different existing world to me. She is the best at literature and language. Her hobbies include writing, photography etc. She had always imagined her books to be turned into a movie and she could get the chance to be on stage, so she began her journey towards it. Although she doesn’t have any favourite books but if anyone asks, it would be Harry potter and many more related to mystery and fiction.

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?

A:It’s a strange encounter that I stumbled across that i came up with the idea of this story. 3 years ago, me and a few reletives went to visit my cousins. Just after leaving, i had notised their new microwave when their mother showed it to me. Ever since i was a child, i had wild imagination that had to be written. i stared at it and went closer, thought of making up a cool story which would be scary but since I wasn’t fascinated by any thriller or horror, I chose fantasy as anyone my age that time would and that’s the backstory on how I came up with such an idea. I wanted to give up indubitably since I didn’t have much interest and it was inevitable but I started to write it in my dairy and soon on my iPad. I gained interest and published it after a ‘6-month long writing spree.’

Q:What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?

A: What I had learned was go with the flow and not try extremely hard since what I’ve done fantastic so far is enough for my age. It has always kept be preoccupied ever since I started, even in public places like schools. There was a feeling in me that woke up my inner joy as I held a pen or a laptop. By writing such a story, I realized the true team spirit and friendship is the greatest strength in the world where tragedy cannot break their bonds. I cannot let a simple halt make me let go of what I value most.

Q: What Do You Think Happened To The Characters After The Book Ended?

A: Well, all I can say is that well figure that out in part 2. But I do assure you, the protectors are either very well or in the worst condition possible. We don’t want spoilers too soon, do we?

Q: How Long Does It Take You To Write A Book?

A: I’m planning on writing so many more although some don’t think I should ticker with my time and focus on graduating which is like a few years from now. I’d say I love all the ideas god gave into my clever mind. Next series might be either murder or detective since it fascinates me the best and inspires me, to be honest, I get ideas every day and I’d be glad in saying that I appreciate every bit of it.

Q: Do You Try More To Be Original Or To Deliver To Readers What They Want?

A: I try to be original as I write the ones that is extraordinary and if I’d write what the readers what, it’s numerable. My work wouldn’t really be mine since I’m not writing the ideas or words that express the best that suits my choice. Readers would have their own perspective different than mine yet I reckon everybody has great imagination. Don’t you believe it’ll rather be better for the writer to shine?

Q:How Did Publishing Your First Book Change Your Process Of Writing?

A: All of us grow better in many ways after accomplishing goals and achieve far greater things. I sometimes regret not writing this line or that name etc. in a story that I’ve already published permanently yet I still continue writing and I must say, the part 2 is coming great and much better than the first. It’s all about practice.

Q:What, In Your Opinion, Are The Most Important Elements Of Good Writing?

A:Once my wise Mamu Obaid who always gives me life lessons told me, “Quality is better than quantity.” It clearly states that if you spend your time worrying about how many pages you wrote, at the end reader are the ones who read your book and won’t pay heed to the quantity of your book..

Q: What Are Your Top 3 Books?

A: I’d say for the recent days of reading, most of the books of- J.K Rowling, Michael Grant and Jeffery Archer. Their Plot and impressive word choice thrills me in reading more of it.

Q: What Advice Would You Give To Aspiring Authors?

A: For all the children who want to become a successful author- Life is a place where it’s filled with imagination, a different dimension where your creativity actually manages to create perhaps. Although your age might not make other readers believe its truly written by you and your imagination, keep on going since the truth is always revealing itself day by day. Take your time and start now and don’t wait for years to pass by until you become an adult. Patience is the only way and that to strive higher with triumph while believing your destiny is a gift is what makes you a dedicated author. Don’t keep thinking on, become!
