About the Author:
Hello! I am Haniya, born and bred in Mumbai. I am a media student majoring in advertising. I have always had a passion for writing and story telling. I started writing 7 years ago and felt a word that I didn’t feel for the first 14 years of my life, free. Every dusk sees its dawn and my debut poetry book is my dawn. Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?
A: I have always had a passion for poetry. i have been writing for 7 years now it was only now that i felt like i want to share my work with the world. and here it is. my inspiration was the little girl in me who always dreamt of being an author.
Q: What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?
A: That vulnerability is a greatest gift a person can have. and also how your art speaks for you and about you.
Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?
A: This book is my share of girlhood, heartbreak and the healing of it. also, navigating my life through my art.
Q: What Does The Title Mean?
A: weeping walls is a reflection of a house that can never be a home.
Q: What Do You Think Happened To The Characters After The Book Ended?
A: I hope the 13 year old girl in the book talking about her life is happy and lives a life of fulfilment.
Q:How Many Books Have You Written? Which Is Your Favourite?
A: This is my debut book and i will always have a special place for this in my heart.
Q: Do You Have Any Suggestions To Help Others To Become A Better Writer? If So, What Are They?
A: Stay true to your art, you don’t have to write like someone. trust me, people want to hear you and you are not alone.
Q: Do You Try More To Be Original Or To Deliver To Readers What They Want?
A:Originality means a lot for me but I love inspirations and references to other art like music and paintings.
Q: What Is The Most Difficult Part About Writing For You?
A: I try not to repeat myself and hope each poetry is talking individually and is different from other.
Q:What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?
A: For me, it’s achieving your dreams and living a life of fulfilment.
Q:How Important Is Research To You When Writing A Book?
A: Very important, I like to be confident in my work.
Q:What Advice Would You Give To Aspiring Authors?
A: Enjoy the process of writing and putting the book together, you dont have to be extremely hard on yourself.
