Happy Asati Talks About His Book “I’m Gonna Tell God Everything”
About the Author:
A banking professional with over 16 years of experience, I have spent my career navigating numbers, strategies, and corporate complexities. Yet, my true passion has always been storytelling. From crafting essays as a child to writing poetry and short stories, my love for words never faded. An MBA in Marketing and an Executive PG in AI & ML from IIT Roorkee expanded my horizons, but storytelling remained my creative refuge. Beyond finance, I find joy in photography and weaving bedtime tales for my daughter. With unwavering support from my family, I now present I’m Gonna Tell God Everything, my debut novel.
Exclusive interview with the author
Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?
A: I was inspired by the real stories of Syrian children living through unimaginable horror. A single image of a wounded child moved me deeply, and I wanted to give voice to the innocence lost in war. Ahmed’s story is my way of honoring those unheard voices and reminding the world of its responsibility to protect them.
Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?
A: I’m Gonna Tell God Everything is a powerful story of a Syrian boy, Ahmed, who faces the horrors of war with innocent hope. Through his eyes, we witness love, loss, and resilience. His final words become a global call for peace, turning his short life into a symbol of courage and a reminder of humanity’s forgotten children.
Q: What Does The Title Mean?
A: The title I’m Gonna Tell God Everything reflects Ahmed’s innocent yet powerful belief in justice. Growing up amid continuous bombings, witnessing bloodshed and death at such a young age, he never understood why humans killed each other when God created them. Believing deeply in God, he wanted to complain to Him—hoping God would stop the cruelty.
Q: How Long Does It Take You To Write A Book?
A: Actually, I wanted to write on this topic for a long time, but when I finally began, it took me about six months to complete the book. The story demanded a lot of emotional depth and research, especially to portray the reality of war through a child’s eyes—it wasn’t easy, but necessary.
Q: Do You Try More To Be Original Or To Deliver To Readers What They Want?
A: I always try to be original. For me, writing is about telling a story that feels true and honest, not just following trends. I believe readers connect most with raw, real emotions—and that only comes from writing what genuinely moves you. If it touches me deeply, I hope it touches others too.
Q:What Is The Most Difficult Part About Writing For You?
A: The most difficult part about writing for me was TIME. With a full-time job and many responsibilities, finding space to write was a challenge. I managed by writing late at night and early in the mornings. It was tough at first, but gradually I found a rhythm—and now, I’ve even started planning my next project!
Q: What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?
A: To me, success isn’t about fame or money—it’s about making a meaningful impact. It’s knowing that something I’ve created resonates with others, that my work touches hearts and sparks thought. Success is finding fulfillment in the journey, staying true to your vision, and knowing you’ve given your best. That’s enough for me.
Q: What Advice Would You Give To Aspiring Authors?
A: My advice to aspiring authors is to write from the heart and stay true to your voice. Don’t worry about perfection; just keep writing. There will be tough days, but persistence is key. And most importantly, don’t let fear or doubt stop you—believe in your story and let it unfold naturally.
