India vs West Indies, 1st Test, Day 3 Highlights: Ravichandran Ashwin returned match figures of 12 for 131 as India defeated West Indies by an innings and 141 runs in Dominica. Earlier, the guests declared their innings at the score of 421 for 5, taking a first-innings lead of 271 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal top scored with 171-run knock while Virat Kohli hit 76. It was Ashwin’s five-for in the first inning that had helped India bundle out the hosts for 150 after getting an invitation to bowl. (Scorecard)

    It was a caught behind appeal from India and that eventually sees them lose a review as they had gone upstairs. The ball missed the outside edge of Joshua Da Silva’s bat. Umpire was unconvinced and skipper Rohit Sharma decided to go upstairs after some discussion with the players.

    India are in the driving seat. West Indies started their second innings under pressure for obvious reasons. Windies trail India by 244 runs.

    142.3 – Virat Kohli gets another life, this time at the score of 72. It was a good length delivery outside off stump. Kohli went for a drive and got a thick outside edge on it. Windies wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva jumped to his right but failed to take the catch. It is the second time Kohli has been dropped in this innings. This is really poor fielding from West Indies.

    India have scored 400 runs at the loss of four wickets. They have extended their lead to 250 runs at Lunch. Virat Kohli goes back unbeaten at the score of 72. He and Yashasvi Jaiswal started well today. The youngster raced to his 150 but later lost his wicket at the score of 187. Ajinkya Rahane failed to make it count with a three-run knock. Kohli, however, kept to hold one end tight. He was given a life by Kraigg Brathwaite at the score of 40 and continues to make Windies pay for it. Ravindra Jadeja has also held one end well with Kohli as the duo has added 44 runs for the fifth wicket so far.

The ball came at a low height to the right of Brathwaite at short cover, who failed to hold on to it.
